Before you renew your SCFHS registration, make sure the CME hours posted to your Mumaris Plus record meet your category's target for the two-year period: 20 for technicians, 40 for specialists and pharmacists, 60 for physicians and dentists. You can apply three months before the period ends.
Start with the number, not the course
Most renewal stress I see comes from buying courses before knowing the gap. Get the order right: your target first, then the hours already in your record, then the difference. Only the difference needs new activities. Your target depends on your professional category. Your specialty and job title do not change it.
Technicians
All technician classifications.
Specialists
Non-physician specialists, including registered nurses.
Pharmacists
Pharmacists and clinical pharmacists.
Physicians and dentists
From GP and resident to consultant.
If you are not sure which card is yours, the lookup of CME hours by profession lists them in one place.
Your SCFHS license renewal CME checklist
Work down the list in this order. Each step depends on the one before it.
- Read your category in Mumaris Plus and note the hours your period requires.
- Count the hours already posted to your CPD record. Count only what appears there, not certificates you hold.
- Work out the gap: target minus posted hours.
- Choose accredited activities that cover the gap. Accreditation is per activity and per provider, so check each one.
- Complete the courses and download each certificate from your dashboard.
- Wait for posting and recheck your record. With Mulhim, hours are posted within 24 to 48 business hours.
- Apply to renew once the record shows the full target, from three months before the period ends.
Step 2 is where people get caught. The CPD section of Mumaris Plus is the only count that renewal reads. Our guide on checking your CPD hours and activity status in Mumaris Plus walks through that screen.
What does the checklist look like with real numbers?
Three short examples, using the official targets and the fact that each Mulhim course carries 5 CME hours.
A pharmacist with 15 hours posted. The target is 40, so the gap is 25. That is five courses. The 30-hour bundle covers it with one course to spare, which is useful if a course you planned turns out to be outside your interest.
A physician with 25 hours posted. The target is 60, so the gap is 35. That is seven courses. The 40-hour bundle covers it in one purchase.
A technician with nothing posted, four months before the period ends. The target is 20, so the gap is the full 20. Four courses in the 20-hour bundle close it. Renewal opens in a month, which leaves time for posting before the application.
In each case the calculation took less than a minute. The hard part is being honest at step 2 about what is actually posted.
A countdown you can follow
Your registration period lasts two years. Here is how the final stretch usually looks.
As shown in Mumaris Plus, SCFHS sends a reminder about 60 days before your registration expires, by email and WhatsApp. By the time it arrives, the renewal window has already been open for about a month, so read it as a late prompt. The two-year CME cycle, stage by stage covers the earlier months too.
Which mistakes slow renewal down?
- Counting certificates instead of posted hours. A certificate in your downloads folder does not change the number renewal reads.
- Using the wrong category. A registered nurse is a specialist with a 40-hour target. A technician has 20. Check what Mumaris Plus says about you.
- Finishing the last course the night before applying. Posting takes 24 to 48 business hours with Mulhim, and other providers set their own timelines.
- Ignoring hours that never appeared. If an activity is missing, contact the provider first. If that does not fix it, open a Tawasul request with the provider name, the activity approval number and the date.
Match the gap to a bundle
Once you know the gap, pick the smallest set of accredited hours that covers it.
| Your situation | Example | Hours to add | Bundle that fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Technician starting from zero | No hours posted yet | 20 | 20 CME hours |
| Specialist or pharmacist with some hours | 10 posted, 30 still due | 30 | 30 CME hours |
| Specialist or pharmacist from zero | Nothing posted yet | 40 | 40 CME hours |
| Physician or dentist | 60 due | 60 | 40 CME hours + top up |
Bundles
Every Mulhim course is SCFHS accredited and gives 5 CME hours. Mulhim is fully accredited. Each bundle includes 6 months of access.
When your record shows the full target, the steps for renewing your SCFHS registration in Mumaris Plus are in their own guide.
