Mumaris Plus is the platform of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) that holds your professional registration, your classification and your CPD record, the list of continuing education (CME) hours posted for you. It holds records, and it has no courses. Renewal reads the hours posted there.
What is Mumaris Plus, in practice?
A common mix-up is to expect courses inside Mumaris Plus. You do your learning with accredited providers, and Mumaris Plus is where SCFHS keeps the result. Think of it as your professional file with the commission: who you are registered as, which category you belong to, when your registration period ends, and which accredited activities have been posted to your name. If you want the background on the commission itself, see what SCFHS is and what it does.
What you will find there
Your professional registration
Your current two-year registration period and its end date.
Your classification
Technician, specialist, pharmacist, or physician and dentist. It sets your CME target.
Your posted hours
Each accredited activity posted for you, and the hours still due.
Your renewal
Where you apply to renew, from three months before the period ends.
The targets your classification sets
| Category | Examples | Hours per 2-year period |
|---|---|---|
| Technician | Nursing, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology technicians | 20 |
| Specialist | Registered nurse, lab, physiotherapy, nutrition, respiratory, radiology specialists | 40 |
| Pharmacist | Pharmacist, clinical pharmacist | 40 |
| Physician and dentist | GP, resident, specialist, consultant | 60 |
"CPD" (continuing professional development) is the term Mumaris Plus uses. It means the same continuing education hours people call CME. The CPD vs CME explainer covers the two terms in more detail.
What should you note on your first visit?
Four things are worth writing down the first time you open your account, because every later decision depends on them:
- The end date of your registration period. Count back three months to find when renewal opens.
- Your classification. It decides whether your target is 20, 40 or 60 hours.
- The hours already posted. This is the only total renewal reads.
- The hours still due. This is the gap you need to plan for.
Here is how that reads for a registered nurse, who is classified as a specialist. The target is 40. Say 25 hours are posted. The gap is 15, which is three Mulhim courses at 5 hours each. A physician reading the same screen with 45 posted against a target of 60 also has a gap of 15. Same arithmetic, different category.
How hours get into your record
- You complete an accredited activity. Accreditation is per activity and per provider.
- For activities inside the Kingdom, the provider posts the hours to your CPD record.
- You open Mumaris Plus and confirm the entry and the updated hours still due.
With Mulhim, posting takes 24 to 48 business hours after you complete a course, and your certificate is downloaded from your dashboard.
Using it to plan your renewal
The usual causes are ordinary ones, such as a posting window that has not passed or an assessment left unfinished. Why CME hours do not show in Mumaris Plus goes through each one.
Which misunderstandings cause trouble?
- Waiting for the reminder. As shown in Mumaris Plus, the SCFHS reminder comes about 60 days before expiry. Renewal opened a month earlier, so plan from your end date instead.
- Treating a certificate as posted hours. The certificate is your proof. The posted entry is what counts.
- Guessing your category. A technician and a specialist in the same department can have different targets. Read yours in the account.
- Leaving the late fine to chance. It applies from 31 days after the period ends.
Filling your record with Mulhim
Mulhim is fully accredited. Every course is SCFHS accredited and gives 5 CME hours, each bundle gives 6 months of access, and your hours are posted to Mumaris Plus for you.
