Best Online CME Courses in Saudi Arabia: How to Choose

Five checks that matter more than the course title

The short answer

The best online CME course for you is one that is accredited for that specific activity, states its hours clearly, gets those hours posted to your Mumaris Plus record, and fits the target your SCFHS category sets. The topic and the price come after those checks.

Start from your target, not from a course list

Search results are full of course lists, but no list knows your number. SCFHS sets continuing education hours by professional category for each two-year registration period. Pick your row first, then look for courses that fill it without waste.

Five checks for any online CME course

CheckWhy it mattersWhat a good answer looks like
AccreditationAccreditation is granted per activity and per provider, not to a website as a whole. The course itself is accredited, and the provider can show it.
Hours statedYou need to add hours up to a fixed target.A clear number per course, such as 5 hours.
PostingRenewal reads the hours in Mumaris Plus, not your certificates.A stated posting window, such as 24 to 48 business hours.
Access timeShifts and leave get in the way.Months of access, not days.
CertificateYou want proof on hand when you need it.Downloadable from your own dashboard at any time.
A certificate alone does not renew you
A course can hand you a certificate and still leave your record empty. Before you pay, ask how and when the hours will reach Mumaris Plus.

Why do online CME courses suit most practitioners in Saudi Arabia?

Online learning removes the hardest part of CME: finding a free day that matches someone else's schedule. You can study after a night shift, between clinics or at the weekend, and the hours count the same as any classroom activity, as long as the activity is accredited and posted. For a 40-hour or 60-hour target, that flexibility often decides whether you finish on time.

The trade-off is discipline. Without a fixed date, it is easy to postpone. That is why the best choice comes with a structure you can follow, like a fixed number of courses and an access window long enough to finish but short enough to keep you moving.

What does a side-by-side comparison look like?

Say you are a pharmacist with 40 hours due and two options open in front of you. The first course page says "certificate included" and nothing more. It does not state the hours, and it does not say who posts them to Mumaris Plus. The second states 5 hours per course, names a posting window of 24 to 48 business hours, and gives 6 months of access. The second one is the safer buy, even before you look at the topics, because you can work out exactly where you will stand on renewal day.

Do the arithmetic before you pay. Forty hours at 5 hours per course is 8 courses. If Mumaris Plus already shows 10 hours posted this period, you need 30, which is 6 courses. Buying 8 in that case only adds hours you will not use.

If you want a deeper check on a provider, this guide on how to check if a CME course is SCFHS accredited walks through it.

Red flags worth walking away from

  • A promise that hours appear "right away". Posting takes time, and an honest provider gives you a window.
  • No hour count on the course page.
  • A general accreditation logo on the website but nothing about the course itself.
  • Certificates you cannot download yourself when you need them.
  • Access that runs out in days, which falls apart the first week you cover extra shifts.

How to compare courses in five minutes

  1. Write down your category and the hours still due in Mumaris Plus.
  2. Confirm that each course is accredited and how many hours it gives.
  3. Check how long you will have access.
  4. Ask how the hours are posted to your record and how long it takes.
  5. Choose the smallest bundle that closes your gap.

Where Mulhim fits

Every Mulhim course is SCFHS accredited and carries 5 CME hours, and Mulhim is fully accredited. Courses are grouped into bundles that match the category targets, each bundle gives 6 months of access, certificates are downloaded from your dashboard, and Mulhim posts your hours to Mumaris Plus within 24 to 48 business hours. You can browse the individual courses or go straight to a bundle.

Frequently asked questions

Do online CME courses count for SCFHS renewal?

Yes, when the activity is accredited and the hours are posted to your Mumaris Plus record. The format, online or in person, does not change that.

How do I know an online course is accredited?

Accreditation applies to each activity and its provider. Ask the provider to show the accreditation of the course itself, not just a general logo.

How many courses do I need?

It depends on your target and how many hours each course gives. At 5 hours per course, 20 hours means 4 courses and 40 hours means 8.

What if my hours do not show up?

Contact the provider first. If needed, raise a Tawasul ticket with the provider name, the activity approval number and the activity date.

Can I check a Mulhim certificate?

Yes. Mulhim certificates can be checked on the certificate validation page.
